Total Time19 hours 30 minutes

Ingredients

The Meat

  • 2 racks St. Louis Style Ribs

For the Marinade

For the Dry Rub

BBQ Sauce coating

Instructions

Prepare the pork ribs

  • Start by removing the membrane on the back of the ribs.

Prepare the marinade

  • Combine all of the marinade ingredients in a blender and blend till smooth.
  • Generously inject the ribs with the marinade

Prepare the dry rub

  • Combine all of the dry rub ingredients in a bowl and whisk.
  • Coat the ribs on top and bottom with the dry rub and let rest in the refrigerator uncovered for 3 hours to overnight.

Cooking the ribs in an air fryer

  • Set the air fryer to a temperature of 250f (121c). Place the ribs in your air fryer and cook for 1 hour.
  • After 1 hour, remove the ribs from the air fryer. On a sheet of foil add a little honey, a few dabs of butter, and some brown sugar. Place the ribs (meat side down) on top of that mix and wrap tightly. I like to double wrap my ribs at this step.
  • Place the wrapped ribs back into the air fryer and continue cooking at 250f (121c) till you reach an internal temperature of 205f (96c).
  • Once you hit 205f (96c) remove the ribs from the air fryer and uncover. Baste the rack with your favorite BBQ sauce and place them back in the air fryer meat side up.
  • Continue cooking at 250f (121c) for an additional 30 minutes or until the BBQ sauce has caramelized and formed a beautiful glaze.
  • Remove the ribs from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes.

NOTES

  • if you prefer SUPER tender ribs reduce the heat to 225f (107c) and follow the same process
  • If you prefer ribs with a bit more chew increase the temp to 300f – 325f (148c – 162c) and follow the same process
  • Cooking times will vary depending on your air fryer and the space you have inside of it. The more air flow in your basket the faster your ribs will cook.
